Building a Culture of Respect Online and Offline
At Twelve Corners Middle School, digital wellness is a collaborative community effort. Students, families, and staff work together to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment—both online and offline.
Our approach to digital wellness is grounded in the Brighton Believes core values of respect, responsibility, kindness, integrity, and self‑control. These values guide students’ online behavior just as they do their in‑person interactions, helping them make thoughtful, responsible choices in digital spaces.
We believe in empowering students as upstanders, encouraging them to speak up, seek help, and support others when they encounter harmful or hurtful behavior online. Prevention, empathy, and learning from mistakes are central to this work.
At school, staff use restorative and proactive practices, including age‑appropriate lessons and monitoring tools, not just to respond to concerns but to teach digital citizenship, promote empathy, and strengthen community safety. These tools are used as supports to help students grow—not simply as disciplinary measures.
This site is designed to support families, students, and staff with shared language, clear expectations, and practical tools. While topics such as online hate and harmful behavior are addressed, the broader focus is on building healthy habits, preventing harm, knowing when and how to get help, and working together as a community.
