Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) education empowers individuals and families across the lifespan to manage the challenges of living and working in a diverse global society. The unique focus is on families, work, and their interrelationships. FACS education has roots in both academic and career and technical education and reaches beyond the educational system into the community as it focuses on the needs of individuals and families. The mission of family and consumer sciences education is to prepare students for family life, work life, and careers in family and consumer sciences by providing opportunities to develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors needed.
A hands-on approach to learning helps to motivate and teach the students. Culinary Club is available for those students with an additional interest in cooking and baking.
Students at TCMS take FACS in 6th, 7th and 8th grades.
