Twelve Corners Middle School

TCMS Honors Veterans at Annual Veterans Day Assembly

Posted Date: 11/10/25 (02:33 PM)

Twelve Corners Middle School seventh graders came together on Nov. 10 to honor those who have served our country during the school’s annual Veterans Day assembly. The program provided an opportunity for students to learn more about importance of Veterans Day.

The assembly opened with a performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” by the Select Choir. Student Council members then took the stage to share the history of Veterans Day and to read the poem “In Flanders Fields.”

The guest speaker for the event was Steve Wendell from Honor Flight Rochester, an organization dedicated to celebrating and supporting veterans by providing them the opportunity to visit Washington, D.C. memorials built in their honor.

The program continued with a video from students thanking them. Students then recognized each veteran in attendance while the Armed Forces Medley played. The veterans in attendance were:

  • John Edmunds, who reached the rank of specialist first class in the Army
  • Bruce Henninger, who reached the rank of captain in the Army
  • TCMS social studies teacher Chris Montulli, who reached the rank of petty officer second class in the Navy
Thank you to the veterans who attended our assembly and all veterans who have served our country!
