TCMS German Students Visit Vermont

Posted Date: 6/13/25 (2:37 PM)

In May, 47 seventh and eighth grade German students visited Vermont. The first stop was Ben and Jerrys, where they saw the production of ice cream. After much sampling, they checked into the Trapp Lodge in Stowe. There the students enjoyed two nights of delicious Austrian food and learned the history of the von Trapp’s departure from Austria prior to World War II.  They also learned about maple syrup production as they went “wandering” to the Trapp Sugar Shack, took a “simulated Rhine” cruise on Lake Champlain, learned about Scottish Highland Cattle and Vermont Teddy Bears, and enjoyed shops and cafes in the pedestrian area of Burlington. Lastly, the students took in the spectacular views of  the Green Mountains while making smores at a bonfire.
