Dear Members of the Brighton School Community, 

We are writing to let you know that we are aware of stories in the media regarding a former employee that has been charged with first-degree disseminating indecent material to minors. 

The individual in question has not worked in the District for approximately a year and a half. During their employment, we did not receive any complaints of inappropriate conduct specific to these charges, although we’ve now been made aware that there was one particular concern regarding how this person looked at a group of students. We do not have any reason to believe that the charge is in any way related to our school district or their prior employment. That said, we will monitor the situation closely and work with law enforcement to address any additional concerns or information that results from their investigation. Please contact your child’s teacher, counselor, or principal if you have additional concerns or questions.
