Twelve Corners Middle School eighth graders had the opportunity to see the play “Survivors” on May 9 to expand on what they’ve learned about the Holocaust.
“Survivors” is a new play by Wendy Kout crafted from the actual testimonies of 10 Rochester-based Holocaust survivors. CenterStage Theatre and the Louis S. Wolk Jewish Community Center of Greater Rochester commissioned this play to put a human face on this important time in history. A cautionary tale on the risks of normalized hate, this inspirational and uplifting play ensures that the voices of survivors will never be silenced.
Survivors also served as a discussion-starter for current events and the risks of normalized hate and prejudice.
Thank you to the Brighton Education Fund for bringing this presentation to TCMS.
