Qualified residents of the Brighton Central School District will vote on the next year’s school budget along with board candidates on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Central Administration Building, Gymnasium, Door 4, 2035 Monroe Ave.
The budget proposition would authorize the appropriation of $110,572,957 to meet estimated school district expenditures for the 2025-26 school year. This represents an increase of 5.45% compared to the 2024-25 adopted budget. This would result in a tax levy increase of 2.03%. This tax increase complies with the New York State Tax Cap.
Voters will elect two members to the Board of Education. There are three candidates and their names will appear on the ballot in the following order: Clayton Jones, Karen Hatch, and Vinod Bajaj. Click here for information on the candidates.
Per New York State Education Law §§ 2012, in order to vote, a person must be a resident of the Brighton Central School District for at least 30 days immediately preceding the vote, and must be at least 18 years of age and a citizen of the United States. No registration is required, but prospective voters should bring one proof of residency such as a driver's license or non-driver’s ID.
