The Twelve Corners Middle School English as a New Language classroom celebrated the Lunar New Year on Friday, Feb. 7. Students and teachers enjoyed marking the beginning of the Year of the Snake by sharing noodles, dumplings, and sweets with one another. The room was festively decorated with red and yellow paper lanterns and Chinese knotted cords. A giant snake made from paper chain links hung from the ceiling overhead. In the Chinese Zodiac, the snake is understood to be a sign of good luck, rebirth, wealth, wisdom, and love.
