Thanks to a generous donation from the Brighton Schools Alumni Association (BSAA), the Twelve Corners Middle School courtyard has been restored. The courtyard is a beautiful and welcome space that students, staff, and visitors will cherish for years to come.
TCMS Student Council officers Caroline Burtner, Audrey Hoefen, and Blake Circe thanked BSAA for the gift in November. Representing the alumni association were President Stephen Gaudioso, Vice-President Maryjane Link, Treasurer Scott Anthony, Kay Salerno, Marci Loomis, and Burt Weinstein.
The BSAA provided a $4,460 donation. The District Buildings and Grounds Department coordinated with Brighton Landscape to remove trees that were dying, rototill the courtyard, remove weeds, and re-seed the grass. The remaining trees are thriving now that the courtyard isn’t as crowded. Chairs and tables were set up so everyone can enjoy the space. A plaque will be placed on the wall to acknowledge the gift.
Thank you to the BSAA, District Buildings and Grounds Department, and TCMS custodial staff for their work on this project.
In the spring, the Green Thumb Club plans to add flowers to the space.
