Class of 2032 Transition Planning

1. Attend Informational Parent/ Guardian Presentation (January 21, 2025)

2. Review Course Selection Materials and Select Courses (January & February 2025)

    • Review the course selection form with your child. It includes a video about the three World Languages offered at TCMS and the options for musical groups.
    • This form must be completed by February 15th.

4. Dates to Know

  • TCMS Staff and Students visit FRES (May 23rd)
  • 5 go 6 Crossover Activity Night at TCMS (May 30th-7:00-8:30 @ TCMS)
  • Schedules go "live" in SchoolTool (approx. August 19th)
  • 6th Grade Orientation
    • August 27th (** This will be confirmed when next year’s District calendar is finalized in the spring.)
    • 8:45-12:45 for students
    • 9:00-10:00 for parents/ guardians

5. From the Health Office

  • NYS requires that all 6th graders receive the Tdap vaccine once they turn 11-years-old (this is different from the Dtap vaccine received earlier in childhood).  If your child has already received the Tdap vaccine, please send their updated immunization records to the FRES Nurses.  
  • If you anticipate that your child may need any over-the-counter medications (i.e. ibuprofen, cough drops, tums, etc.) at school, please complete and submit the BCSD OTC Medication Permission form.  This form is only valid for one year from the date of the healthcare provider's signature, so the form needs to be resubmitted annually.  The form can be found on the BCSD website under Departments >> Nursing/Health >> Health Forms

6. Prior to August Orientation, please be sure to close out all technology-related invoices at FRES.

  1. Students need to return their iPad and iPad charger to FRES before they can be assigned their TCMS device at orientation. (Learning how to use the new Windows device will be a part of orientation.)
  2. Families need to pay any invoices for damages, etc., before they can be assigned their TCMS device.
  3. The Student AUP/ DPP form in ParentSquare needs to be filled out prior to orientation.
